Experience the joy and well-being of coloring mandalas. This 11" x 8.5" PDF Mandala Coloring eBook contains eight (8) original symmetry mandalas by Maureen Frank with a quiet space theme and each comes with its own unique, inspirational message.

THE DESIGNS:

  • "As You Believe" - Our belief systems formulate our thoughts and actions, and can be rather complex. This mandala reminds us that we often create the experiences in our lives based on what we believe about ourselves and the world around us.
  • "Giza" - The 3 pyramids of Giza, Egypt inspired this intricate crystal-like design, which consists of 2 sets of 3 pyramids...1 small, 1 medium, and 1 large, all contained within a diamond border.
  • "Quiet Space" - This reminds me of the old "Get Smart" tv show, where the agents would get within the "cone of silence" to talk about secret stuff. This mandala tells us to go within, to find that quiet space, away from all the noise and chaos of the outside world.
  • "Sanctuary" - Like "Quite Space" this reminds us to find our sanctuary in the stillness and quietness of our minds, that same quietness and stillness experienced when setting inside empty church or a clearing in the woods.
  • "Snowflake 2008" - Every winter I create a new snowflake mandala for the year, this is the snowflake for 2008.
  • "Star Crystal" - This mandala reminds me of a star ornament, radiating out in 12 directions.
  • "Tiara" - I think of this mandala like a megaphone that the universe uses to broadcast it's message of love and light. In this case, it's letting us know that it's okay for us to receive love...we are worthy.
  • "True Heart" - I used a celtic knot theme for this mandala, which reminds us to love, honor and respect ourselves. And interestingly enough, when we do that for ourselves, we will automatically do it for others.

Happy Coloring!

THE PROCESS:

I create my own mandala designs by first hand sketching them with pencil and paper, then using a graphics tablet and stylus, I draw the mandala into the computer. I then convert the digital images into a PDF coloring book.

MY STORY:

I began creating mandalas in early 1999 after a 10-day trip to Egypt. Through much of that region of the world patterns and symbols decorated just about every structure I visited, whether ancient, old or new. My analytical mind loved the geometry of the Islamic art and the Egyptian hieroglyphics. My heart and soul loved their elegant and symbolic beauty.

When I returned home, I began seeing patterns and symbols in everything around me, even in my dreams. I proceeded to translate these intriguing ideas into mandalas. In early 2000 I learned to use meditation as a way to access the depth of these mandalas, fully exploring their therapeutic and metaphysical natures.
